Cost of Dental Implants – Washington, PA
Understanding the Cost of Your New Smile
Dental implants are one of the most popular solutions for missing teeth because of their many benefits. However, they come with a higher price tag compared to other restorations. So are they worth the cost? What contributes to my overall treatment price? Dr. Bartusiak wants all his patients to have the information they need to make a confident decision, which is why he’s included the answers below.
Types of Dental Implants
There are different types of dental implants based on the number of teeth you’re missing. Of course, the more teeth you’re missing, typically the more expensive your treatment will be. For a single missing tooth, we can use an implant-retained crown to seamlessly complete your smile. If you’ve lost multiple teeth consecutively, your dentist in Washington may recommend an implant-retained bridge to literally “bridge” the gap. Lastly, if you’re missing all or most of your smile, an implant-retained denture could be the perfect option. The number of teeth you’re missing will directly impact how many implants you need as well as the types of restorations required.
What are the Stages of Dental Implant Treatment?
Unlike other options, dental implants require a surgical process in order to achieve amazing results. Each stage of the process will incur a separate cost, which adds up to your overall treatment price. After your initial consultation, you’ll have your surgery, where Dr. Bartusiak will create tiny incisions in your gums to access the bone. Then, small holes are made for the placement of your implants. After, you’ll begin a healing period called osseointegration that takes at least 3 to 4 months. Lastly, you’ll come back into our office, where Dr. Bartusiak will place your final restorations.
Are Dental Implants Worth the Investment?
While dental implants tend to cost more than other options, their unique benefits are well worth it. In fact, they can last for your entire lifetime with proper care, allowing you to actually save money in the long run from avoided replacements. Plus, dental implants are the only restoration that stimulates the jawbone to prevent it from deteriorating after tooth loss, which keeps your fascial appearance full and the rest of your smile intact.
Does My Dental Insurance Cover Dental Implants?
Typically, dental insurance does not cover dental implants, however this will vary from plan to plan. We are experts at maximizing your insurance benefits while minimizing your out of pocket spending, which is why we can often help patients get coverage for certain aspects of their treatment.
